Headache Relief- The Natural Way

If you are experiencing a headache, you may want to see a Chiropractor before you head to the medicine cabinet. Seeing a Chiropractor can speed the relief of a headache, but also help you avoid the side effects associated with certain drugs.

A report from the Duke University in Durham, N.C. found that spinal manipulation quickly improved headaches originating in the neck, and far fewer side effects and longer-lasting relief of tension headaches than a commonly prescribed medication. Multiple other studies have shown Chiropractic care to be effective in the treatment of migraine headaches.

Dr. Chris currently cares for many patients who originally dealt with migraine headaches on a regular basis, who have now seen long-term relief. A 14-year-old patient of Dr. Chris was having migraine headaches 4 times a week since he was in the 5thgrade. After one visit, he had immediate relief and now 3 months into treatment has not experienced one migraine headache.

Chiropractors preach to their patients that headaches can be a warning sign that something else is wrong inside the body. Something structurally wrong with the head and neck as a result of posture or previous injury.

Dr. Chris advises his patients to consider choosing Chiropractic care for headaches rather than masking their pain with medications. He states that masking headaches with medication are similar to constantly refilling car engine oil when there is a leak. If your car is constantly draining oil, quit putting more into the engine but rather fix the cause of the leaking oil. The same thing goes for headaches, try to stop taking medications to mask the pain, but get the problem fixed so that the headaches don’t keep coming back.
